FS#21539 - DLC01RaiderFaction is missing proper faction relationships

That’s the faction all Rust Devils are in.

The other day, I had a random encounter with Rust Devils in that small park in Cambridge where BoS soldiers are occasionally present. This time, three of them were present too, but they did not react in any way to the Rust Devils - just stood there doing nothing. Not very credible.

Turned out that there are no relationships specified for the two factions. Even worse though: DLC01RaiderFaction hasn’t any relationships specified at all, excpet for themselves ...

Relationships of base game factions and DLC added factions are apparently handled by scripts that run once after the DLC has been activated.

It's no surprise therefore that some factions show up in the editor with no relationships specified at all, i.e. that part is apparently not a bug.

I still believe however that there's something wrong with the BoS-Rust Devils relationship.

Do you happen to know which scripts? I can't find anything that references this in any of them. Which may be the problem, but I need to know where to look first.

For automatron these are DLC01PlayerFactionRelationScript and DLC01OneToManyFactionRelationScript.

Arthmoor commented on January 24 2017 03:51 AM

Neither one of those scripts is showing up as in use by anything in the CK either.

DLC01:DLC01PlayerFactionRelationScript is never referenced in the game, at all, and no script anywhere in the DLC or other places ever refers to it. No quest exists for it to have been attached to.

The script itself consists of 4 arrays of factions that are supposed to be set to various states of relationship with PlayerFaction, but no mention of enemy vs enemy relationships exist at all.

I do not believe this is something we can fix via this script.
